Musée de l'Annonciade
For art lovers, the Musée de l'Annonciade features an amazing collection of paintings as well as sculptures that date from 1890 up to 1950, found within the 16th century Chapel de-Notre-dame-de-l’Annonciade. This museum boasts works of art from many artists who were drawn to St. Tropez at the time, including Matuisse, Bonnard, Dufy, and Seurat. Most artists and sculptors featured completed their work while living and staying in St. Tropez. These paintings are all located within the walls of the old chapel, which was torn down during the Revolution, and then restored in the year 1955, and is today a sight to see. La Citadelle; Musée Naval de la Citadelle
While in St. Tropez, one must visit the Citadel which can be found on top of a hill with a beautiful view of the gulf and ocean. This building was constructed in the end of the 16th century, and completed by 1607. History states that the surrounding population wanted it to be torn down, but this did not prevail. The walls of the Citadel helped guard St. Tropez for over 400 years. It was known to be one of the best and most important coastal defences between the cities of Antibes and Toulon. Today, you can visit the Citadel and learn about the cities most important defences all year long.

You may also enjoy the Naval Museum, which can be found within the Citadel. Here you can enjoy different exhibits including submarine equipment, models, boat paintings, engravings and more. The display features a ten year collection of various butterflies, collected by Dany Lartique from France.
